BEARING GIFTS LIMITED

 

It all started when Joanne England and Oliver East Won 1st Prize in Primary School for Sewing. Sixteen years later at the age of twenty-five, we are now designing and creating cuddly caretakers of life.

Our love for bears started out as a hobby. We made our first bear in 1997 and quickly progressed from plush to mohair and from plastic to wooden joints.

Learning skills through perseverance, help from books, family and a trusty old Bernina Record sewing machine from Oliver's grandmother, the designs quickly improved. We enjoy the challenge of designing and making a variety of different styles and features with that 'take me home look'.


On the 8th December 2000, we opened our very own shop called "Bearing Gifts". We have a large range of teddy bears, bear making supplies and accessories, as well as many New Zealand made products and souvenirs.
