Our Mission
We built Mighty Ape because we love online shopping. Our mission is to create the best online store for New Zealanders. We work hard to provide you, our customer, with great value and a truly world-class online shopping service. This means sourcing stock locally and ensuring orders are fulfilled quickly. It means ensuring competitive prices. It means being available should anything go wrong.

We believe in keeping it real. You won't see us burning money on fancy TV ads, unnecessary meetings, fancy offices or even fancy haircuts. Our focus is squarely on serving you... our customer. We understand that our success depends on our ability to make you happy.

What makes Mighty Ape better?
What makes Mighty Ape better than the other monkeys? We hold stock. Actually, we hold tonnes of stock. Why does holding stock make us better? Because when you order an item that's in-stock with us, we'll ship it to you on the same day you place your order (3pm cut off time). What's more, our warehouse is located on Auckland's North Shore -- where most of the local book and game suppliers are based.

We know you don't like to wait for your stuff... and neither do we!

Where did the name Mighty Ape come from?
The name is paying homage to the mighty ape himself, King Kong.

Our company
We're proud to be 100% New Zealand-owned and plan to stay that way. We're fiercely independent. The business was founded by Simon Barton who also co-founded Zillion, happysheep and Gameplanet.

We currently employ 14.5 very dedicated monkeys including Simon, Vicki, Rose, Gaz, Matt, Pete, Scott, Mike, Katey, Moana, Kristin, Ruth, Chris, Hayley and Rhia.
